Render Mortar Mix is a single component
Portland cement based plaster containing additives
for added bonding strength. Depending upon application,
Render Mortar Mix may be sprayed or hand-troweled.
It incorporates fly ash as a mineral admixture making
it easy to convey, place, and finish. Contained in
50 lb bags, Render Mortar Mix is simple to use requiring
only jobsite addition of potable water.
The following are different textures and application
techniques that are possible with Render Mortar Mix.
• Smooth Finish
• Rough Coarse finish
• Irregular patterns
• Artistic and decorative patterns
• Stone texture
YIELD – A 50 lb bag will approximately yield
0.45 ft3 of material. Coverage will be approximately
22 ft2 at 1/4” thickness.
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Render Mortar Mix is a Portland cement based plaster
complying with ASTM C926 requirements for Type C
Plaster. Typical compressive strength results obtained
with Render Mortar Mix, when tested in accordance
with ASTM C109, are as follows: 1000 psi (6.9 MPa)
at 7 days 1600 psi (11.0 MPa) at 28 days.

MACHINE MIXING INSTRUCTIONS
• Add approximately 1 gallon of water for
each 50 lb bag of Render Mortar Mix to be mixed
• Turn on the mixer and slowly begin to add
the mortar
• If the mortar becomes too difficult to mix,
add additional water until achieving the desired
consistency
HAND MIXING INSTRUCTIONS
• Empty mortar bags into a suitable mixing
container
• Add approximately 1 gallon of water for
each 50 lb bag of Render Mortar Mix to be mixed
• Work the mix with the necessary tools and
add additional water as needed until achieving the
desired consistency
• Make sure all the material is wet before
proceeding with the application
APPLICATION
Render Mortar Mix can be applied with any standard
mason tool.
• Apply a minimum 1/8” thickness of
Render Mortar Mix by spray or trowel and smooth.
Surface textures can be achieved with a brush or
trowel
• Any desired texture of finish must be achieved
while the mix is still plastic and workable
• Avoid overlapping fresh plaster over previously
dried areas as this will result in color variations
CURING
Provide sufficient moisture to permit continuous
hydration of the cementitious materials and minimize
cracking. The most effective procedure and frequency
will depend on climate and job conditions. Temperature,
wind velocity, direct sunlight or shading, as well
as the dampness or dryness of the surface receiving
the material, all have an effect on the finished
depth of color. Do not apply when weather is forecast
to be above 100 degrees F (38 degrees C) within
24 hours without adopting the required hot weather
precautions.

IMPORTANT! Read before using.
This product contains Portland cement. Contact with
freshly mixed product can cause severe burns. Use
of safety goggles and rubber gloves are recommended.
Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes. If this
product should contact eyes, immediately flush with
water for at least 15 minutes and consult a physician.
For skin exposure, wash promptly with plenty of
soap and water.
