We have developed innovative products such as Carmelo Fly Ash which is used in high performance concrete in Puerto Rico. Derived from coal, Fly Ash is a valuable additive that makes concrete stronger, more durable, and easier to work with.

Because of our achievements in this and other areas, Ecológica Carmelo has raised a great deal of interest in the engineering community and the construction industry.
Our company actively promotes and educates others about the benefits of using Fly Ash and participates in the transfer of technology required for its use. We also encourage the utilization of products in construction that are environmentally friendly. Ecológica Carmelo has made presentations on Fly Ash to local, state, and federal agencies, as well as to private companies. These seminars focus on the environmental and economic benefits that Fly Ash brings to concrete construction, as well as on the obstacles that the construction industry must overcome to begin using Fly Ash on a large-scale basis. Ecológica Carmelo is also sponsoring a series of 60-second television spots dedicated to promoting and using Fly Ash for construction.
